Millennium Low? REALLY?

Today in the Business Record Daily, a publication that I subscribe to for local business news, published the following headline: 2010 announced job cuts heading for millennium low

It doesn’t matter what the story is, whether is it news worthy or not, when you start out with a headline like this, they can’t help but lose credibility.

Let’s apply the same headline to Mortgage Interest Rates… 2010 Mortgage Rates At Millennium low.  Seriously?  While the statement is “technically true” what the headline is really saying is that Mortgage Interest Rates are the lowest since the year 2000.  A decade hardly makes a millennium.

Come on Business Record, you can do better than this!
