January left with a fury (not flurry) and February is starting with weather delays and cancellations. Don’t underestimate the momentum of the Des Moines real estate market.
The stats don’t lie! Be sure and check out the Balance of the Market report. Typically we are in a Buyers Market at the beginning of the year, but that’s not the case so far in 2015. An even market indicates that supply and demand are both in balance.
The other stat to be sure and look at is the Monthly Active vs Pending chart. Every Wednesday evening I will post a weekly version of this report. It will show you if the number of new listings are keeping pace with the number of homes going under contract.
