Des Moines Home Sales End Strong

//

Closed Sales Surpass 2016 With 14,603 Closed Transactions!

As 2017 officially comes to an end, there is the feeling of excitement for the 2018 spring market to arrive. Even with New Years Eve record low temperatures and warnings of windchill factors in the -28 degree range, many Realtors are busy preparing for the inevitable spring market. A year ago at this time, we were only a couple of weeks away from spring like activity. It was a mild start for temperatures last January and a year where many didn’t even start up their snowblowers. This year the ever quoted Old Farmers Almanac is predicting warmer than normal temps for January, February and March of 2018, which if true, will find Realtors, buyers and sellers out buying and selling homes soon.

In an effort to get this webpage updated on New Years Eve with the latest market data, I will be adding the recap video sometime on Monday, January 1st. I’m also working on some great new reporting data for 2018 which will be teased in the video, so come back to this page by Tuesday January 2nd for all the data from December and a preview of things to come in 2018. As always, my year end report will be released in mid-late January after all the final numbers trickle in.
